We stayed in one of the cottages in the gated community. The grounds and pools are clean and well maintained. The grounds have some shade trees to get away from the heat. The cottage had all the amenities that we needed to make our stay comfortable. We loved the screened in back porch with ceiling fans. They do offer a trolley service for the beach, but since it was so close we just walked. You do have to walk down quite a few steps to make it to the private beach, but there are benches to sit if needed. We enjoyed the complementary beach service each day. "This is a first rate Beach and Tennis Resort on the Emerald Coast of Florida, the Panhandle. It is a 24/7 guarded and gated resort. The resort has six clay tennis courts with one court being converted to three pickle ball courts. There is a tennis pro shop with two tennis professionals. There are tennis clinics for children and adults. It has twenty-seven acres of resort with walkways and water features. The resort has three swimming pools and three hot tubs. There is a catch and release lake with a fountain. They also have a free movie kiosk at the community center and lending library. There is a children's playground, basketball court and horse shoe pit. Individuals and families may choose from a condo on the beach, beach villas, or Carolina Cottages for lodging. There is a complimantry tram to the beach, although the beach is just a short five minute walk. The very best is the white sugar sand private beach, with it's crystal clear, to emerald green, to sapphire blue water. Not only the sand and water to entice guests, White Diamond Beach Service provides beach chairs and umbrellas. These young men provide exemplary service to guests. They are most kind and pleasant and ALWAYS willing to help. They carry coolers, beach bags, and offer an arm for an unsteady elder, or child, as the case may be. They do all this from sun up, to sun down, always with a smile. They have Easter Egg Hunts for the children at Easter, long stem roses for mothers on Mother's Day, and a wonderful July 4th celebration. We just had a wonderful week at Hidden Dunes Beach and Tennis Resort. Upon arriving we visited the office to receive our door code and instructions for parking. The lady working the desk was very nice and accommodating. We checked in and proceeded to our room. The resort is made up of small cottage-like rentals and a 20 story condo building. We had reserved room 404 in the condo building. There are two parking garages available, one on ground level and one below ground. It would be tight if driving a bigger vehicle but it was fine for our SUV. Our room was on the 4th floor. It was very clean, and I'm really picky about cleanliness. The bedrooms and bathrooms have been updated so they are very nice. The living room and dining room had very nice comfortable furniture. The kitchen needs some updating but it was nice and clean. We had everything we need in terms of kitchen essentials. There was an in unit full size washer and dryer. There were plenty of white fluffy towels available. We were furnished with 2 chairs and an umbrella every day. The young men employed by the resort set them up every morning and will carry your bag or cooler to the chairs. They do accept tips although we were unaware of this until the latter part of our visit. We don't normally carry any cash to the beach with us. The beach in Destin is unbelievable. The water is beautifully blue and the sand is soft and white. The resort also has a pool and hot tub available. It's a very nice resort and everyone is very nice.
