Destin Concerts in the Village Kicks Off Thursday

Summer is right around the corner, which means it is time for the annual Concerts in the Village. Our friends at the Mattie Kelly Arts Foundation never disappoint us and the 2013 concert line-up looks fantastic!

Every Thursday evening at 7 p.m., during May and June, as well as a concert finale on Wednesday, July 3rd, Concerts in the Village will light up the night with live outdoor concerts in Destin, Fla. The 10-week series features a variety of genres and is fun for all ages.

This year, Concerts in the Village will enjoy use of the Mattie Kelly Cultural Arts Village's new permanent stage, the Dugas Pavilion, and expanded Village Green. This Thursday, May 2nd, the Fountain City Players will christen the Dugas Pavilion with the sounds of Motown, R&B, and Jazz.

Voted one of the top 10 things to do in Northwest Florida by Florida Travel & Tourism Guide, Concerts in the Village is the perfect outdoor activity after a day of fun in the sun. Concert goers are invited to bring a lawn chair or blanket and a picnic dinner or purchase dinner on-site by either Carrabba's Italian Grill or Jim 'N Nick's Bar-B-Q, which rotate weekly. Bottled water and soft drinks will also be available for purchase. Admission is $8 per adult or $15 per couple and children under 12 and MKAF members are free.
